| Internship Do you have students who you advise or know of students in your department who might be interested in summer research? If so, I would encourage you to forward them this list of Summer Research Opportunities compiled by Dr. Michael Cutlip at the University of Connecticut. Heck…you might just want to forward it to all of the ChE students in your department! Here is the link to the ChE Division Website of ASEE where you can see the list under the heading “Summary of Undergraduate Research Opportunities for Chemical Engineering Students during Summer of 2007”: http://www.asee-ched.org/ (Note: If you haven’t been to the ChE Division website in a while, please check it out…especially the Forum!) If you want a direct list of the Summer Research Opportunities, you can find it here: http://www.engr.uconn.edu/~cutlipm/reu/ ChE students please note that with the exception of the sophomores and seniors (3rd & 4th years) completion of 400 hours of chemical engineering related industrial work experience is a prerequisite for graduation registration!! So don't be caught into the trap affecting so many ME's and EE's, this year with them scrambling to get their hours at the last minute in order to be able to graduate. Some just wont make it!! To be forewarned is to be forearmed!! [1] Goddard Enterprises Limited of Barbados, seek young, bright and ambitious applicants for their Management Trainee Programme. Interested final year and graduate Chem Eng students may send their résumés with "Gaddard" in the subject line to gvirgo@utech.edu.jm, asap.
